Decades later – after moving through fundamentalism and atheism – I joined Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), the organization that he founded. One year later I learned that this technique of moving the currents in the spine is called Kriya Yoga.
Normally, we don’t tell such stories, and for years I never even told my wife. However, I began to feel that I should do so back around 2005. I balked. But then a friend called to say that he was getting a strong message that I should write an autobiography. I had never told him any of my stories, so I thought he might be right. But again I got cold feet. So I wrote to SRF for advice. After a monk called to say that I should tell my stories, I bought two camcorders and began. Let the chips fall where they may.
